Good Friday.

It is Good Friday today. The Resurrection Sunday is just a day away. Today is Vishu as well. For me and my family, Vishu is deeply spiritual. Vishu is triumph of the good over the evil. The goddess is a woman. And that makes it special. Good Friday is the message of Truth. His message and the truth that ultimately truth alone triumphs. Then for centuries since AD 30, mankind to remember, observe and live Him as a way of life. The message of love, tolerance and forgiveness when observed and lived truly and deeply, life in itself manifests into a bliss of peace. Pain purifies. Sins to be forgiven. Today is yet again a reminder to live that message. Having observed fasting through Lent for a long 40 days starting on Ash Wednesday, having observed Maundy Thursday, today is Good Friday and a day away is the Silent Saturday, and then the Easter Sunday. Kaali destroys an Asur, a demon, Darika and comes home and tells Shiva, her father the war story. The triumph of virtue, personified in a woman. Two deeply spiritual, powerful messages for us to live especially when we wake up watching CNN visuals of the deadliest bomb falling on Mother Earth. Let’s pray for Peace for all. All the more when more than half of this world is ravaged by wars. In Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan; a truck killing some of the world’s most peace-loving people in Stockholm a week ago; a genocide in Darfur just months ago. Events which are passive news for many of us in CNN, BBC World or the international news section of the Times of India. Let this Easter, this Vishu, be a remembrance of those in pain and a prayer for Peace.
